EquiCare was designed for horse owners and equestrian professionals to discover services, shop equestrian products, and manage bookings, all in one mobile app.
Outcome
The final product delivers a complete equestrian mobile ecosystem: horse owners can browse certified veterinarians, farriers, trainers, and transport services, and shop equestrian gear with a unified checkout flow.
The interface prioritizes quick access with clear visual hierarchy, making complex booking workflows simple and intuitive on smaller screens.
By using reusable mobile components, consistent interaction patterns, and a scalable design system, the app is ready for real-world use and fast production implementation.
Problem
Horse owners struggle with fragmented communication across different providers for equine health, training, transport, and equipment purchasing.
Booking specialized services like equine transport or farrier visits often requires back-and-forth phone calls without transparent pricing or schedule confirmation.
As the diversity of equestrian services grows, finding trusted, local providers becomes harder without a centralized directory and booking system.
The challenge was designing a mobile application that consolidates service discovery, product shopping, and booking management into one cohesive and accessible mobile interface.
Research
Before designing the interface, I mapped the daily journey of horse owners and stable managers to understand how they currently find, book, and pay for equestrian services.
Interviews with horse owners, trainers, and equestrian shop owners revealed how fragmented the current experience is across WhatsApp, phone calls, and separate websites.
Several patterns became clear during the research:
- Users need fast emergency access to equine vet and farrier services.
- Clear service pricing and rating reviews build trust before booking.
- Mobile navigation must be thumb-friendly for quick one-handed use outdoors at stables.
- Combining shopping and service booking in one checkout flow reduces friction significantly.
These findings shaped every design decision, from navigation and filtering to product cards and the booking confirmation flow.
Product System
As the product expanded, I kept noticing the same challenge consistently.
EquiCare isn't just a single home screen, it's a connected system of service discovery, product browsing, booking management, and order tracking. Every module has a different purpose, but all of them should feel like a coherent product.
That consistency became the foundation of the experience.
Horse owners shouldn't have to learn new interface logic every time they move from the service listing to a booking confirmation, or from the store to their order history. Once they understand one section, the overall product becomes familiar.
I built the system around the same design principles: shared layouts, reusable components, and scalable patterns allowed every screen to work together as a system instead of separate pages.
This approach influenced every design decision:
Instead of introducing new patterns for each feature, I focused on standardizing:
- reusable service cards across every category page
- consistent filters and search patterns
- shared booking forms and confirmation flows
- unified bottom navigation and tab bar
As new services were added, the system could grow without losing consistency. Every new feature reused familiar patterns, reducing the learning curve for both users and developers.
I didn't design each screen as an isolated interface. I designed a system that keeps complex service discovery structured, predictable, and easy to navigate every day.
Role
I was responsible for designing the product from the ground up, turning complex equestrian service workflows into a scalable and accessible mobile experience.

This project marked my first time designing a comprehensive B2C mobile app in the equestrian industry, balancing domain expertise with modern mobile design principles.
